At My Home Ministry, one of our key missions is to support children affected by war. Our Social Care Center in frontline Kherson provides a safe and nurturing space where children can heal, grow, and rediscover joy.
Milana, a 7-year-old girl, first came to our Center in August 2023. Her family lives in a part of Kherson that is regularly shelled. After one particularly terrifying attack, Milana became withdrawn, barely spoke to strangers, and even struggled with speech.
At first, she found it difficult to adapt—she kept to herself, avoided conversations, and stayed away from other children and adults. But with time, patience, and care, everything changed!
Today, Milana is thriving. She has made friends, eagerly joins conversations, and confidently expresses her needs. Her love for drawing has blossomed—her artwork is now filled with bright colors and life.
Every day, we see Milana grow, and her transformation reminds us why our work matters. At My Home Ministry, we believe that every child deserves a safe space to heal, be heard, and rediscover their confidence.
