Сhallenges: War trauma often brings intense pain and anxiety to those who faced death and battlefield horrors for extended time periods. Even strong men are often unable to withstand this psychological pressure. The resulting consequences are devastating for them, their loved ones, and society. War veterans often turn to alcoholism, drugs, and crime to deal with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. The men who risked their lives for Ukraine deserve great respect and support. The deserve the opportunity to understand the true peace and salvation available only in Christ Jesus.

Our response: Veteran Hub is part of the My Home Care Center, where veterans can receive necessary services and support. Psychological counseling, legal support, financial literacy training, and meetings with spiritual leaders of the Christian community are only part of the service that our volunteers and ministers provide to veterans. We believe that those who protected the lives of peaceful people of their country at wartime need to find salvation in the Lord. Undoubtedly, they will then become strong soldiers of Christ to serve the people of Ukraine.

These veterans, who desperately need our support today, will become powerful agents for the change and restoration of the Kherson region and all of Ukraine, after healing takes place.

5-7 YEAR VISION: VETERAN HUB

Veteran hub, established by My Home, will be a platform to unite military veterans. An initial hub in Kherson will serve as a pilot location. Then, another 15 local veteran centers will be started in different parts of the Kherson region.

No one understands a soldier better than another soldier. We currently have military chaplains on our team who are performing their duties in the armed forces of Ukraine. In the future, they will become the leaders for the Kherson Veteran Hub and regional centers.

The Veteran Hub program creates a platform where veterans receive:

• – Psychological help
• – Substance abuse treatment and rehabilitation
• – Training programs
• – Spiritual support
• – Open forum for communication

We believe that veterans will be restored psychologically, emotionally, and physically. Once recovered, veterans will become volunteers, ideally equipped to help other veterans.
