Challenges: Since 2002, My Home has ministered to families willing to open their hearts and homes to accept an orphan and bless them with normal childhoods. Because of the war, My Home families have lost jobs, income, and often their houses. They were forced to leave their homes in occupied territories or areas under regular Russian army bombardment.
The number of orphaned children who need a loving family is increasing at an alarming pace. Before the war, about 5,000 children lived in residential institutions in Ukraine. According to various estimates, about 15,000 new orphans have been created by the war.
Our response: Our My Home team understands that orphan support programs are more essential than ever.
We continue to identify and support loving families who will receive or have received orphaned children. These adoptive homes become refuges of happiness, safety, and hope for every previously orphaned child.
Currently, we continue to support 42 families who have adopted 115 orphans.
My Home assists families with adopted kids up to 18 years old by providing:
- – Training programs
- – Financial aid
- – Legal counsel
- – Psychological needs assessment and support
- – Spiritual guidance
5-7 YEAR VISION: KHERSON REGION WITHOUT ORPHANS
We will continue to actively seek, educate, and provide financial aid to Christian families who are willing to accept orphaned children. We want every child to have the opportunity to grow and thrive in a loving family.
Our goal is to place and support 200 children in 100 families.
