In 2021, Olena’s life changed forever. She had always dreamed of a big, happy family. Together with her husband, she was raising two children and building a quiet future. But tragedy struck — a close friend passed away, leaving five children orphaned.
The children were placed in an orphanage. Olena and her husband made a brave decision — to take them in. It wasn’t easy. They faced criticism, misunderstanding, and even suspicion. But their hearts were sure: “We knew it was the right thing to do.”
The moment she called the children for the first time remains unforgettable. The oldest, Nastya, couldn’t hold back tears of joy. Her words confirmed what Olena and her husband already knew — their choice was right, and it was from God.
Raising a large family took strength, love, and faith. Along this journey, My Home Foundation stood by their side — with spiritual, emotional, and practical support.
Then came the war. Evacuation. A foreign country. The struggle to adapt. And the hardest blow of all — in the U.S., Olena was diagnosed with cancer. Doctors gave her two months to live.
It was terrifying. But My Home didn’t leave her. They told her:
“These children already lost one mother. We’re praying they won’t lose another.”
Her daughter’s words became her anchor:
“Mom, don’t worry. We’re here. We’ll walk through this together.”
That moment became a turning point. Olena fought — and overcame.
Today, she is alive, strong, and full of gratitude. A mother of a big family that has survived war, evacuation, illness, and natural disasters — and remained whole.
My Home has become more than just an organization. It has become family — loving, patient, and sacrificial.
Olena shares:
“If I boast of anything, it’s only of the Lord. Thank you to everyone who has supported us. And to those considering foster care — don’t be afraid. There will be people beside you. Prayer. Support. God.”
