The Murashchenko family is one of “My Home’s” supported adoptive families.
Seventeen years ago, the Murashchenkos made a life-changing decision — they adopted a two-week-old baby girl named Nadia. At the time, the couple already had two sons. Today, their family story spans over a decade of parenting, challenges, and unwavering love. One son is now married and a father himself; the other is pursuing his own journey. Nadia, once a fragile infant, has blossomed into a bright and creative teenager.
When war broke out in Ukraine, the family’s adoptive status enabled them to evacuate legally with Nadia and relocate to Germany. What followed was a difficult but inspiring journey through refugee shelters, cultural adaptation, and rebuilding life from scratch.
“It hasn’t been easy,” the family says. “But we are learning the language, working hard, and serving in the local church. Nadia is studying at a gymnasium and dreams of becoming a video editor. She’s already filming and editing small videos.”
Despite the challenges, the family has found strength in community — and in the ongoing support of “My Home.” Financial assistance from the foundation helps them cover daily needs and stay connected with their Ukrainian roots through Christian camps and youth ministry.
“We are sincerely grateful to My Home for both moral and financial support,” they say.
